The Pitt-Greensburg Volleyball team suffered a straight set loss to Franciscan University on Thursday evening at Finnegan Fieldhouse, falling by scores of 25-11, 25-7, and 25-15.
While the first two sets were won by the Barons rather handily, the Bobcats found some momentum in the third set, opening with a 3-0 run. The score remained close for the first half of set three, until the Barons were able to take control and close out the match.Â
Mia Stohon led the offensive effort with a team-high seven kills and an impressive .294 hitting percentage. Racey Scheuerman added two kills while Lily Buckles tallied 8 assists. Defensively, Emily Hernandez anchored the back row with 11 digs, while Grace Bradley contributed 6. Lily Show and Ca'Mari Walden combined for the team's only block of the match.Â
The Bobcats return to action Saturday as they travel to Dickinson College for a tri-match featuring host Dickinson and Moravian. Game times are set for 2&4 PM.
