Carlisle, Pa. – The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team faced tough competition on Saturday, falling in straight sets to both Moravian and Dickinson in a tri-match hosted at the Kline Center.
Match 1: Moravian 3, Pitt-Greensburg 0
Set Scores: 13-25, 20-25, 17-25
Despite a strong second-set effort, Pitt-Greensburg was unable to overcome Moravian's efficient attack, dropping the match in three sets.
Mia Stohon led the Bobcats offensively with 15 kills and a .219 hitting percentage, accounting for nearly half of the team's total kills. Lilly Buckles contributed 26 assists and added three service aces, while Emily Hernandez anchored the defense with 13 digs.
Pitt-Greensburg showed flashes of momentum in the second set, hitting .375 as a team, but Moravian responded with consistent play across all three sets.
Match 2: Dickinson 3, Pitt-Greensburg 0
Set Scores: 16-25, 13-25, 19-25
In the second match of the day, Pitt-Greensburg battled against a strong Dickinson squad. The Bobcats improved their offensive rhythm in the third set but ultimately fell in straight sets.
Mia Stohon once again paced the offense with 10 kills, while Racey Scheuerman added five kills and Lilly Buckles dished out 12 assists. Grace Bradley and Emily Hernandez combined for 16 digs to lead the defensive effort.
Dickinson's balanced attack and strong serving proved difficult to contain, as they hit .250 as a team and recorded 13 service aces.
The Bobcats return home for one final non-conference tune-up match as they play host to Penn State Beaver. The match is scheduled for 7pm.
