Pitt-Greensburg used a dominant second-half surge to pull away from Penn State Behrend, earning a 67–55 AMCC victory Saturday at Chambers Hall.

The Bobcats improved to 17-3 overall and 9-2 in conference play by flipping a tight, physical first half into a decisive performance after the break. Trailing 34–31 at halftime, Pitt-Greensburg shot an impressive 68.2 percent from the floor in the second half and outscored the Lions 36–21 over the final 20 minutes.

Penn State Behrend opened the game with an early burst, racing out to a 12–4 lead behind Jacob Dunkle's interior scoring. Pitt-Greensburg weathered the early run and steadily chipped away, sparked by Jackson Byer's activity on both ends and a pair of baskets from Michael Bigley. Despite the Lions briefly pushing the margin to 17 late in the half, Pitt-Greensburg closed strong, trimming the deficit to just three points at the break.

Momentum swung quickly after halftime. Trent Rozich scored on back-to-back possessions to pull Pitt-Greensburg within one, and moments later the Bobcats took their first lead of the game at 35–34 on another Rozich finish in the paint. From there, the teams traded baskets through several ties until Pitt-Greensburg found separation midway through the half.

A three-pointer from Tony Martin at the 10:26 mark gave the Bobcats a 46–43 edge, igniting a decisive run. Pitt-Greensburg forced turnovers on consecutive possessions, converting them into fast-break points as Bigley and Matthew Marinchak attacked the rim. The Bobcats stretched the lead to double digits at 62–51 with just over four minutes remaining and never looked back.

Rozich led Pitt-Greensburg with 18 points, while Marinchak added 14 on an efficient 5-for-7 shooting night. Byer stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, six rebounds, four steals, and three assists, helping fuel the Bobcats' transition game. Bigley chipped in 12 points, and Pitt-Greensburg finished with a 30–24 rebounding advantage and 21 points off turnovers.

Penn State Behrend was led by Dunkle's 15 points, but the Lions were held to just 33.3 percent shooting in the second half as Pitt-Greensburg's defense tightened down the stretch.

The Bobcats closed the final minute at the free-throw line to seal the 67–55 victory, capping a complete second-half performance in front of the home crowd at Chambers Hall.

The Bobcats will return to action a week from today as they travel north to face Hilbert for a 3PM tip.
