Pitt‑Greensburg delivered one of its most resilient performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, erasing a 12‑point halftime deficit and powering past Hilbert, 74–68, inside the Brad Hafner Recreation Center in Hamburg, N.Y. The Bobcats improved to 18–3 overall and 10–2 in AMCC play with the victory.

The contest opened with Hilbert riding a hot shooting hand, and the Hawks wasted no time establishing momentum. Ari Jones drilled a three on the game's first possession and later added another triple as part of a blistering first half for the hosts. Pitt‑Greensburg hung tough early—Michael Bigley knocked down a jumper at 17:41 and Jackson Byer added a pair of free throws to keep the Bobcats within reach—but Hilbert continued to convert at a torrid clip. The Hawks shot 62.5 percent before halftime, stretching their lead behind buckets from Larry Morse and Jones, and closed the period on a surge capped by Jones' corner three with nine seconds remaining. That shot sent the Bobcats into the break trailing 49–37.

But Pitt‑Greensburg emerged from the locker room with renewed energy and a defensive edge that immediately shifted the tone. On the opening possession of the second half, Trent Rozich sliced into the paint for a layup, signaling a momentum swing. Though Hilbert briefly extended its lead to 52–41 on a three from Iyan Bremer, the Bobcats began to carve into the deficit possession by possession. Matthew Marinchak sparked the comeback with a barrage from beyond the arc—first a three at 17:56, then another in transition at 16:45, and a third just 28 seconds later. His nine quick points electrified the Pitt‑Greensburg bench and cut the margin to 56–50, prompting Hilbert to use a timeout.

The stoppage did little to slow the Bobcats. Bigley connected on a mid‑range jumper at 15:17 to make it a four‑point game, and Tony Martin muscled through traffic to score at 14:37, drawing Pitt‑Greensburg within 56–54. Moments later, Jahmir Collins found Ryan Greggerson cutting to the rim for the tying basket at 12:53—bringing the Bobcats all the way back from a double‑digit hole.

From there, the Bobcats asserted control. After Hilbert momentarily regained a one‑point lead, Rozich stepped to the line and delivered two calm, go‑ahead free throws with 9:13 remaining. On the following possessions, Pitt‑Greensburg's defense produced stops while Ty Keffer crashed the offensive glass, tipping in a missed layup at 8:22 to extend the lead to 66–64. Marinchak, who had already fueled the early‑half push, drilled yet another three at 6:46—this one from the right wing—to push the margin to 69–64.

Hilbert made one final charge. Morse converted a put‑back and later finished a fast‑break layup at 2:14 to trim the Bobcats' advantage to 70–68. But with the game tightening, Pitt‑Greensburg answered with composure. Byer delivered a key assist to Keffer for a driving finish at 1:53, restoring a four‑point cushion. As Hilbert searched for late points, the Bobcats' defense clamped down, contesting shots and protecting the paint. After securing a stop, Bigley stepped to the stripe with 36 seconds left and calmly knocked down two free throws to seal the win.

Rozich anchored the Bobcats throughout, finishing with a game‑high 24 points on 8‑for‑13 shooting while adding four rebounds, two steals, and a block in 40 high‑intensity minutes. Marinchak's second‑half outburst carried him to 13 points, while Bigley added 12 and Keffer posted 11 rebounds along with several critical plays in the closing stretch. Byer contributed six points, five boards, and four assists as Pitt‑Greensburg outscored Hilbert 37–19 in the second half and held the Hawks to just 21.9 percent shooting after halftime.

Hilbert was led by Jones' 19 points and Morse's 14‑point, six‑rebound effort, but the Hawks' early shooting success fizzled under Pitt‑Greensburg's relentless pressure. The Bobcats turned 10 Hilbert turnovers into 16 points and outpaced the Hawks 36–28 in the paint while earning valuable contributions from their bench.

In a game that demanded poise, physicality, and timely shot‑making, Pitt‑Greensburg delivered all three—turning a daunting halftime margin into a gritty conference road win. The Bobcats return to action Wednesday as they host LaRoche and attempt to avenge on an earlier loss to the Redhawks. Tipoff is scheduled for 7PM at Chambers Hall.
