Pitt‑Greensburg fell 82–80 in a tightly contested AMCC matchup against La Roche on Tuesday night at Chambers Hall. The game featured 11 ties and 16 lead changes, with the Bobcats battling throughout but unable to close out the final minute.

Pitt‑Greensburg opened the game with strong perimeter shooting, as Jackson Byer knocked down early threes and scored 16 first‑half points. Byer hit a fastbreak layup at 18:43 and connected on another three at 18:03 to help set the tone. Ty Keffer and Trent Rozich added key baskets, with Rozich burying a three at 11:14 and Keffer scoring twice in the final minute of the half to send UPG into halftime leading 46–41.

The second half continued with both teams trading punches. Keffer hit again from deep at the 15:15 mark to give UPG a 55–52 lead before La Roche momentarily regained control. Pitt‑Greensburg responded when Matthew Marinchak knocked down a three at 7:36 for a 70–68 advantage. Moments later, the Bobcats tied the game at 72–72 on a finish by Rozich in transition.

Down 74–72 with just under six minutes to play, Pitt‑Greensburg regained momentum. Marinchak's three at 1:06 brought the Bobcats within 80–77 after La Roche had built a six‑point lead. Pitt‑Greensburg earned defensive stops in the final minute but could not convert on two interior attempts. La Roche made late free throws, and although Michael Bigley drilled a contested three at the buzzer, UPG ran out of time in the two‑point decision.

Byer led the Bobcats with 18 points, while Keffer added 16. Rozich contributed 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Marinchak finished with nine points on two threes, and Bigley added nine, including the final shot at the horn. Pitt‑Greensburg shot 44.4 percent from the field and 37 percent from three while scoring 34 points in the paint and 12 off turnovers.

The Bobcats return to conference action Saturday as they host Carlow for a 4PM tip.
