Volleyball picks up first win at Allegheny Invite

MEADVILLE, Pa: Pitt-Greensburg volleyball finished day two of the Gator Fall Invitational, picking up their first win of the season against Manhattanville College, before dropping the second contest to Adrian College.

Sophomore setter Paige Misawic (Levittown, PA, Pennsbury) was named to the All-Tournament team for the Bobcats.
 
The Bobcats started the two-day event facing off against Thiel College, dropping the match in 3 sets (22-25, 17-25, 23-25). Julie Barron (Somerset, PA, Somerset) led the offense with 5 kills, while Erica Bosh (Pittsburgh, PA, Keystone Oaks) added 16 digs. The Bobcats finished day one with a night contest against Allegheny College, dropping the match in 3 sets (13-25,15-25,12-25). Kara Barclay (Newark, OH, Northridge) led the offense with 4 kills, while Misawic tallied 8 assists, while adding 14 digs.
 
Entering day two, the Bobcats remained winless on the season. That would quickly change by defeating Manhattanville College in 4 sets (25-21,25-18,21-25,25-18). Misawic recorded 25 assists, while Renee' Ault (Oakmont, PA, Riverview) tallied 9 kills. Bosh tallied 10 digs, while Amanda Ross (Rector, PA, Ligonier) executed 5 blocks.  The Bobcats would end the event facing Adrian College, dropping the match in 3 sets (24-26,12-25,10-25). Ross had 3 kills, while Maria Yates (Herminie, PA, Yough) recorded 12 digs, and Misawic tallied 7 assists.
 
The Lady Bobcats will travel to Washington and Jefferson College on September 16th; the match will begin at 7 p.m.
