GREENSBURG, PA - The Pitt-Greensburg Men's Basketball Team clipped the wings of the Hilbert Hawks to get a win in the team's first AMCC game of the season. The Bobcats won the game 88-81.
Â
The Bobcats came out firing on all cylinders while jumping out to an early lead. Pitt-Greensburg's athletic big men were just too much for the Hawks with
Reggie Priah getting to the hoop with ease. Priah finished the game with 20 points and three rebounds while shooting 8-11 from the field.
Â
Once again,
JoJo France was hitting early and often, dropping 28 points while shooting 50 percent from the floor. France also had four rebounds and three assist on the day.
Matt Johnson also scored in double figures for the Bobcats.
Â
Pitt-Greensburg held a double-digit lead until late in the second half when the Bobcats went cold from the field. Hilbert was able to bring the game within one point with less than three minutes left. The turning point of the game was a three-point shot by
Lukas Swartz that he converted while getting fouled. He hit the free throw and put the Bobcats up by five points and the team never looked back.
Â
Perhaps the difference of the game was the Bobcats ability to get out in transition, scoring 22 points on the fast break. The bench also contributed 20 points for the Bobcats.
Â
Pitt-Greensburg will travel to Pittsburgh to take on La Roche in AMCC Play on Wednesday. Tip off is set for 7:30.
