Bobcats down Pioneers Behind Efficient Offensive Performance

ALFRED,NY – The University of Pittsburg at Greensburg men's basketball team played it's first game in ten days, getting back in the win column in the process, defeating Alfred State 75-70. Seniors JoJo France and Matt Johnson led the way in the score column for the Bobcats, dropping 26 and 17 points respectively.

The game remained close throughout, with each team's largest lead being six points. France, Johnson, and Micah Jones all played over 34 minutes for the Bobcats. Jones scored seven points and secured 13 rebounds in the game.

Pitt-Greensburg was efficient offensively, shooting44.6 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from behind the arc. France made five of the Bobcats nine three-pointers. He also netted nine of ten shots from the free-throw line.

Like the Bobcats, Alfred State also had just two players in double-figures with Josh Reding scoring 17 points and Paris Johnson scoring 12. The Bobcats out rebounded the Pioneers 48-31; however, second chance points came at a premium. Alfred State outscored the Pitt-Greensburg 40- 28 in the paint.

The difference of the game came at the free-throw line with the Pioneers making just 40.9 percent on the team's free throws. The Bobcats shot close to 60 percent in the same category.

Pitt-Greensburg will look to keep their winning ways going in the team's first home game in just under a month with the Lions of Penn State-Altoona visiting Chambers Hall on Wednesday. Tip-off will be at 7:30.
