Bobcats Go Cold From Behind the Arc; Fall to Altoona in Fast-Paced Game

GREENSBURG, PA – The Bobcat Men's Basketball team was involved in a track meet inside the Chambers Hall Gymnasium on Wednesday, falling to the Lions of Penn State-Altoona by a score of 94-73. JoJo France, who was honored pregame for scoring his 1,000th career point in the Bobcats last home game, led the way in the scoring column with 22 points. Jaylen Williams recorded a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Lukas Swartz drained a career-high four triples and scored 14 points with Matt Johnson rounding out the Bobcats in double-figures with 13 points.
 
Penn State Altoona kept their foot on the throttle, scoring 19 fast break points and dishing out 16 assists and surrendering only 11 turnovers. The Bobcats attempted a season-high 71 field goal attempts and committed just nine turnovers over the course of the game. Pitt-Greensburg also swiped the ball away seven times and scored 12 fast break points.
 
Pitt-Greensburg shot 42 three pointers, making just 11 of the attempts. Nine of the 11 makes came in the first half and the Bobcats started 0-for-17 from behind the arc in the second half. Overall, Pitt-Greensburg shot just 31.5 percent from the field in the second half, with Penn State-Altoona shooting over 55 percent for the game.
 
The Lions proved to be too much in the paint, outscoring the Bobcats 52-24 lead by PJ Charles 22 points, with the majority of them coming on the low post. Andruw Harman added 16 for the lions and was a force in the fast break.
 
The Bobcats will take the court against Hilbert this Saturday in Hamburg, New York. Hilbert has adopted a new spectator policy that will not allow fans in attendance to the games.
