Four Bobcats Score in Double Figures; Bobcats Drop Second Straight AMCC Game to Hilbert

HAMBURG, NY – The Bobcat men's basketball team dropped its second -straight conference game, this time to the hands of the Hilbert Hawks, despite having four players score in double figures. Senior Matt Johnson scored a team-high 19 points with Micah Jones right behind him with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Pitt-Greensburg shot over 46 percent from the field and shot a season high 80.8 percent from the free-throw line, making 21 of the 26 foul shots the team took. Johnson led the way from the free-throw line, making all seven of his attempts. Jaylen Williams was also perfect from the line, going six-for-six.

The Bobcat defense forced 16 turnovers and scored 18 points off those turnovers. Pitt-Greensburg had 17 turnovers of its own, with Hilbert scoring 14 points off those turnovers. The Hawks outscored the Bobcats 41-24 in the paint. Hilbert also held UPG to just four fast-break points. Hilbert had its largest lead of 16 points right before half and the Bobcats couldn't fight back to close the gap.

With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 3-4 in AMCC play. Pitt-Greensburg will host Medaille in a standalone make-up game this Monday in the Chambers Hall Gymnasium. Tip off will be at 5:30.
