Bobcats Soar Past La Roche Behind Williams Big Night

GREENSBURG, PA – After a slow offensive first half, the Bobcat men's basketball team exploded for 40 points in the second half to defeat the RedHawks of La Roche 68-54. Pitt-Greensburg's defense was stout as the La Roche roster to just one double-digit scorer. JoJo France led the way for the Bobcats with 20 points. France also dished out five assists. Jaylen Williams and Reggie Priah recorded 13 points each, while Williams went for a double-double, adding 11 rebounds to his stat sheet. Williams 34 minutes played was a season high for him.

Sophomore Jeremiah Crockett played big minutes after an altercation that led to two players, one from each team, being ejected. Crockett played a season-high 17 minutes and played lock down defense. Senior Nick Kotecki's impact could be felt on and off the score sheet with his eight points.

La Roche went to its bench early and often, with the team scoring 27 bench points led by the nine points scored by Jordan Grayson. For the Bobcats, Priah and Williams went a combined 10-19 from the floor. Pitt-Greensburg made 19 free throws, with France hitting nine of the ten he took from the charity stripe.

The RedHawks were forced into 19 turnovers. Nine of those La Roche turnovers were credited to steals for the Bobcats. Williams led the way in the steal department with three of his own. Five other Bobcats recorded a steal over the course of the game.

Pitt-Greensburg will travel to Mount Aloysius on Monday in a COVID make up game. Tip-off will be at 7:30.
