Men's Basketball Comes Up Short at Medaille

BUFFALO, NY – The Bobcat men's basketball team dropped its second straight game, this time to the Mavericks of Medaille 76-68. The two teams were tied for fourth place going into the game battling for a playoff spot and playoff positioning. Medaille is alone in fourth place and has a fast track to a home playoff game. The Bobcats drop to fifth place with a 7-7 record and have a big week ahead to clinch a playoff spot.

Micah Jones led the way for the Bobcats with 18 points, including four triples, to go with six rebounds and two steals. JoJo France and Matt Johnson also scored in double-figures with France dropping 15 points and Johnson netting ten points.

Sophomore big man Reggie Priah snapped his double-digit scoring streak, but had his presence felt on the boards while securing a team-high nine rebounds. Medaille dominated the battle in the paint, outscoring the Bobcats by 24 points. The Mavericks also scored 17 points off of 11 Bobcat turnovers.

Rodney Graves scored a game-high 26 points for Medaille while bringing in seven rebounds. Kendall McGill also had a 20-point game and secured eight rebounds. After shooting over 43 percent from behind the arc against the Bobcats in the last game, Pitt-Greensburg was able to hold the Mavericks to just five three pointers in the game.

The Bobcats will look to clinch a playoff spot in the upcoming week as they host Mount Aloysius and Alfred State in the Den. Tip off against the Mounties will be Wednesday at 7:30 while the team will celebrate senior day on Saturday before the Alfred State game.
