Bobcats Lose Heartbreaker to Mount Aloysius

GREENSBURG, PA – What started out looking like a promising night for the Bobcats turned into heartbreak at the end with Pitt-Greensburg falling to Mount Aloysius 75-74. Highlights for the Bobcats were JoJo France scoring 27 points on 10-16 shooting and Matt Johnson scoring his 1,000th career point on a free throw in the second half.
 
The first half was all about France for Pitt-Greensburg and Imil Britt for Mount Aloysius. France scored 22 of his 27 points in the first half, including six triples. Britt scored the first seven points of the game for the Mounties and netted 13 points in the half.
 
After expanding a six-point halftime lead up to ten points a minute into the second half, the Bobcats were able to only make 11 field goals on 34.4 percent shooting in the second half. The Mounties countered that with 16 field goals while shooting 61.5 percent from the floor.
 
Both Johnson and Mike Harris scored 13 points for their respective teams in the second half leading their teams. Dwayne Jones also scored eight points in the second half for the Mounties.
 
Mount Aloysius dominated the battle in the paint, scoring 42 of the team's 75 points in the restricted area. The Bobcats were able to hold their turnovers to a minimum, losing the ball just six times while forcing Mount Aloysius into 13 turnovers.
 
The Bobcats made a season-high 15 three pointers, shooting over 41 percent from behind the arc. They also shot a season high 36 shots from behind the arc. Johnson added four three pointers of his own while Micah Jones also made three.
 
Pitt-Greensburg held the lead for over 28 minutes in the game. There were five lead changed throughout the game and one tie that occurred in the final minutes of the game.
 
The Bobcats will play it last regular season game on Saturday when Alfred State visits Chambers Hall. It will also be Senior Day for both the men's and women's teams. The men's game will tip-off at 3 pm.
