Men's Basketball Celebrates Senior Night with a 100-95 Win Over Alfred State

GREENSBURG, PA – The Bobcat men's basketball celebrated seniors Matt Johnson and Nick Kotecki by eclipsing the century mark for the first time this season in the last regular season game in Chambers Hall. Pitt-Greensburg defeated the Pioneers of Alfred State 102-95. JoJo France led the team with 24 points while Reggie Priah scored 23 points and secured a career-high 18 rebounds.
 
The game was a track meet to say the least, with each team shooting a combined 75 shots in the first half. The Bobcats shot 37.5 percent from behind the arc in the first half while the Pioneers shot 57.1 percent from three.
 
The teams were deadlocked at 50 each in the first half which Alfred State led for 17:28 of the 20 minutes played. The Bobcats battled back in the second half, taking an eight-point lead four minutes into the half.
 
The Pioneers scored 37 points in the fast break compared to the Bobcats 22. Alfred State forced Pitt-Greensburg into 24 turnovers and scored 29 points off of those turnovers. The Pioneers played 13 players and scored 48 bench points.
 
The Bobcats scored 52 points in the paint, outscoring the Pioneers by ten in the restricted area. Pitt-Greensburg took its largest lead of 11 points with an 11-point lead with 13:40 left in second half.
 
Alfred Sate was able to bring the game within a basket late in the second half, however, the Bobcats were able rely on key ball handling and big time plays by its eight guys that took the court this evening, including Lukas Swartz who played a career-high 23 minutes for the Bobcats.
 
Pitt-Greensburg will hit the road for the first round of the AMCC Tournament this Tuesday at a site and time yet to be determined.
