Thorp Walks It Off For Bobcats

GREENSBURG – It was an offensive slugfest at Bobcat Park as the Bobcats took on the Titans of Westminster. Both teams scored in the same inning in five of the nine innings played, including a game tying home run by the Titans in the top of the ninth, only to be out done by Bobcat senior Will Thorp who hit a walk off single to score Jace Cappellini for Pitt-Greensburg's second walk off win in as many games.

Senior Zach Russell started the game for the Bobcats and pitched well as he navigated the Titan lineup. Coleby Lopatic and Tommy Ciesielski took the next 2.2 innings, giving up four runs. After a solid outing by freshman Ben Aftanas, who struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings, James Domer came in from center field and threw one pitch to get one out and earn the win.

Aftanas, Domer, Diego Santos and Christopher Hammond all had doubles in the game. The Bobcats had 15 hits and seven walks.

Pitt-Greensburg will start AMCC play this Sunday as they are scheduled to host Penn State Altoona. First pitch of game one will be at 1 PM.
