Baseball Earns Split With Altoona in AMCC Matchup

GREENSBURG – It was a Sunday Funday at Bobcats Park as the Lions of PS Altoona came to visit for the team's first AMCC Matchup of the season. It was a wild day full of ups and downs as the Bobcats and Lions split, with the Bobcats winning on a walk off 4-3 in game one and the Lions shutting the door on a Bobcat rally in game two, winning 13-12.
 
Mason Boehm provided over half of the Bobcat scoring in game one himself as he hit a two-run homer to deep left center field to bring the the Bobcats within a 3-2 score in the fourth inning. The combination of Will Thorp, Chris Hammond, James Domer and Ben Aftanas brought the Cats home as they scored two runs in the Bottom of the seventh inning to win the game.
 
Game two was a wild affair as the Lions scored four runs in the first inning and three runs in the seventh and eighth innings to out last the Bobcats. Pitt-Greensburg put crooked numbers up in the three innings to count for their 12 runs.
 
The Bobcats had the bases loaded with two outs in the ninth inning but were unable to bring the tying run across.
 
Pitt-Greensburg will be on the road this week as they travel to Ohio on Thursday to take on Muskingum and then travel to Hilbert on Saturday to take on the Hawks in yet another AMCC Battle.
