Bobcats Sweep Their Way Past Bradford; Earn No 4 Seed in Playoffs

JOHNSTOWN – Rain is a good thing! At least the wet and cold weather was for the Bobcats on Monday as the team's bats came alive, scoring 27 runs and recording 27hits in a doubleheader against the Panthers of Pitt-Bradford. With the sweep, the Bobcats clinched the No. 4 seed in the AMCC Playoffs and, in turn, will host the Hilbert Hawks this weekend at Bobcat Park for the first home playoff series since 2017.

In game one the Bobcats came out hot as Pitt-Greensburg took a 6-1 lead after two innings. Michael Sullivan Jr. pitched a great game as he pitched seven innings and recorded five strikeouts. Sullivan gave up just three earned runs. Freshman James Domer went 3-for-3 with threw runs scored and two RBI. Senior Jace Cappellini and sophomore Jaycob Caseras also had multiple RBIs in the game.

The Bobcats were playing through the rain in game two and put a hurting on the Bradford pitching, recording 16 hits, seven for extra bases, and had an 8-0 lead after two innings. The Panthers battled back to bring the game withing three runs, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats ten-runned the Panthers after seven innings. Freshman Neo Miller had three of the seven extra base hits on his own, with three doubles.

Another note from this series was the James Domer became the single-season RBI King as he now has 53 on the season. The previous record was 51 held by Garrett Herald in 2012.
