NORTH BOSTON, NY – The Pitt-Greensburg Volleyball Program is entering year two under head coach Kevin Conroy and will be looking to prove some people wrong in 2023. The Bobcats, who won their final conference match of the season in 2022, will look to keep that momentum going and climb their way up the AMCC standings.
Voters around the AMCC picked the Bobcats to finish ninth in the conference this season. The Bobcats return nine players from last season and showcase five newcomers. An upperclassman that may provide a spark for the Bobcats is junior defensive specialist Jadyn Zemba. Zemba, who is in Greensburg by way of Anchorage, Alaska, has missed the past two years due to injury yet will look to make an impact on the court for the Bobcats.
Seven Bobcat upper classmen come into the season with plenty of playing experience and will look to elevate their play in 2023. Senior Kaylee George led the team in assists last season with 243. Fellow senior Taylor Logan also had triple-digit assists last season with 194.
The Bobcats will look to replace Emma Halutick, who finished in the top-five in kills for program history, with junior Abby Copeland moving over to outside hitter. Sophomore Chloe Lukondi also had a great season on the outside in 2022 and will look to build on that in 2023. Freshman Madison Friess and Megan Cassaday will also look to attack on the outside.
Pitt-Greensburg will start the season in Sandusky, Ohio during Labor Day weekend and will return to Chambers Hall on Sept. 5 when the Presidents of W&J invade Greensburg.
