Volleyball Swept in Final Home Play Date

GREENSBURG - Pitt-Greensburg volleyball is in the middle of a race for the final spot in the AMCC Playoffs. The possibility of the Bobcats securing the No. 6 seed took a hit on Sunday as they fell to PS Behrend in four sets. The team also lost to Shenandoah in a night cap to conclude the team's matches inside Chambers Hall for the 2024 season.

In match one, the Bobcats answered the bell after falling behind 1-0 and took set two 25-20. Behrend's attack proved to be too much for the Bobcats as the Lions' heavy hitting in Cadence Jones racked up 26 kills, many of those coming from the sets of Brynne Smith who had 41 assists. Madison Friess led the Bobcats with ten kills whole Mia Stohon had three blocks.

The Bobcats took on the Hornets of Shenandoah in match two of the day. Pitt-Greensburg had trouble in set one after the two hour layoff from their first match to the start of match two. The Hornets handled the Bobcats 25-14. The second set was going all Pitt-Greensburg's way, leading 24-14 at one point. The Hornets then rattled off 12-straight points to defeat the Bobcats 26-24. The third set was a battle, but saw Shenandoah take control at the end.

Pitt-Greesnburg will take on Washington & jefferson on the road in a mid-week match up. The Bobcats will then travel to Bradford to take on the Panthers next Saturday in what will be a must-win match.
