Volleyball Falls in Bearcat Challenge; Friess Named to All-Tournament Team

LATROBE – The Pitt-Greenburg volleyball team competed in day two of the Bearcat Challenge, falling to RIT and Westminster. Sophomore Madison Friess was named to the all-tournament team.
 
The Bobcats had an early morning match against RIT inside the Carey Center of Saint Vincent. RIT took the first two sets, but the Bobcats showed a lot of heart, taking set three 25-24. Pitt-Greensburg then dropped the fourth and final set 25-15. Mia Stohon led the team with 13 kills and Grace Bradley tallied 22 assists.
 
The Bobcats' second match of the day all went Westminster's way as the Bobcats were only able to get withing eight points in the match's closest set, which was a 25-17 third set win for the Titans. Freshman Danica Hemlock led the Bobcats with 11 digs.
 
The Bobcats will have a day off tomorrow but will be back at it on Monday when they travel to Chambersburg to take on Wilson. First serve will be at 5:00 PM.
