The Pitt-Greensburg men's golf team delivered a strong performance at the NCAA Division III Region V Showcase on Tuesday, tying for fourth place among a competitive field at Catawba Island Club.The Bobcats posted a team score of 638 across two rounds (327 in Round 1, 311 in Round 2), matching Mount Aloysius for fourth overall.
Leading the way for Pitt-Greensburg was
Nicholas Thomas, who carded rounds of 82 and 77 for a total of 159 (+15), tying for 18th individually.
Seth Tomalski followed closely with a 160 (+16), shooting 81 in the first round and 79 in the second.
Anthony Treonze posted a 161 (+17), highlighted by a second-round 77 after an opening 84.
Zachary Abdallah finished at 162 (+18), while
Ethan Rice added a 166 (+22). Benjamin Thomas rounded out the Bobcats' lineup with a 169 (+25), rebounding from a 91 in Round 1 with a 78 in Round 2.
Pitt-Greensburg's second-round surge helped solidify their top-five finish in the regional showcase, which featured teams from across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. The Bobcats have one more scheduled tournament for the fall, the Dutchman Invitational Oct 27th at the Lebanon Country Club.
