The Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team returns to AMCC action Wednesday night as it travels to Mount Aloysius for a conference matchup with the Mounties.
Bobcats Bounce Back Behind Balanced Attack
Pitt-Greensburg enters the contest looking to continue the momentum it regained Saturday following a setback against La Roche. The Bobcats responded with a convincing 74-55 road win at Alfred State, showcasing the balanced offensive approach that has defined their season.
Four Bobcats scored in double figures in the win, led by Trent Rozich with 13 points. Jackson Byer added 12, Matthew Marinchak chipped in 11, and Arkel Batts posted a season-high 11 points. On the year, Pitt-Greensburg boasts three double-figure scorers, with Rozich (16.1 ppg), Byer (14.5 ppg), and Marinchak (13.2 ppg) pacing a deep and versatile offense.
Mounties Searching for Breakthrough
Mount Aloysius comes into Wednesday's matchup still seeking its first AMCC win of the season. The Mounties dropped a 91-77 decision on the road at Pitt-Bradford on Saturday but received a standout performance from Senique Jenkins, who finished with 26 points and 18 rebounds.
On the season, Mount Aloysius is led offensively by Troy Tinch (15.1 ppg), Donovan Bass-Briscoe (14.3 ppg), and Jenkins (12.9 ppg), giving the Mounties multiple scoring options as they look to challenge the Bobcats at home.
First Meeting Favors Pitt-Greensburg
The two teams met earlier this month on January 12, with Pitt-Greensburg earning a 96-59 victory at home. Rozich led all scorers with 21 points, while four other Bobcats reached double figures, highlighting the depth that has made Pitt-Greensburg one of the AMCC's most consistent teams.
For Mount Aloysius, Nacho Nascimento-Zschaeck scored 12 points in the loss, while Jenkins and Bass-Briscoe each added 11.
